Accommodation

Bardou is a medieval hamlet tucked away in the southern French mountains at the heart of the "Parc Régional du Haut Languedoc". The surrounding scenery is graniose.

Accommodation is in restored 16th century peasant homes. They are simply equipped with basic furniture and a kitchen corner. They are self-catering. Most of them have open fireplaces and running water. Toilets and showers are in a separate bathhouse. You will need a camping sleeping bag, or sheets and blankets and a flashlight, since the nights may be quite dark.

The special secluded position of Bardou is inducive to creative work. From Easter through October our village attracts artists, full classical orchestras and theater groups. Rehearsal rooms and open air theater are at the disposal of the artists. For resident musicians we organize concerts in surrounding romanesque and gothic churches; once a year the village serves as a picture gallery for an artist of our choice.

Here you may do walks and climbs or swimming in cristal clear mountain pools. You may enjoy tranquility, pure air, play reading and classical music.

The village is also welcoming vacationing families who like to expose their children to an unspoiled environment and to introduce them to a simple life style.

Year-round Bardou is a meeting point for world travellers who find here a home away from home.
